My first loaf!

My first loaf!

Obviously, my starter is smarter than I am! Despite my best efforts to make things difficult, it managed to make a decent loaf of bread!! I have so much to learn and the variables seem endless. I took good notes and already have an idea of what went wrong and what I'll change with the next loaf. I'm just excited that it actually worked!! Thanks to everyone who helped me get the starter going - you've got me hooked now.

... you're leading our friend along the path of tantalising temptation. (But such fun being a Bread Head, isn't it?!)

Well,  it's going to have to be a once-a-week thing - DH isn't a bread eater, and there's no way LittleTacos and I can go through a loaf much faster than that!! (Unless you count me scarfing down two warm slices covered in soft butter this morning!)  I wish I had an outlet for it - I'd bake all the time. I am thinking that, at one loaf a week - it's going to take me months to work through the corrections I already think I need to make.

Sounds like a terrible problem to have, doesn't it??
