Bread, rolls, cookies, bagels, and pizza in the Barn!

Well, here's my 6-3-3-13.  Not scored so pretty, but hey, still learning! ;)

Sugar cookies went well.  Put the trays on old cooling racks like ClimbHi suggested, worked great!

Was able to fit the whole batch in the oven in one bake!

Cin. Rolls turned out nice.

Was able to fit a 2x batch of bagels in at one time!  Amazing!  I used to be able to only fit maybe 9 in at a time!

You could see all the steam in the oven coming out under the door!

Got nicely browned.  Not too done on the bottoms!

Pizza-TOTAL FAILURE!!!  HA!!!!  Ah...I used one of those pizza screens!  Frankie G makes it look so easy!

I don't think the floor was hot enough.  It stuck to the screen.  When I finally scraped it off the screen it stuck to the floor!  This is what it looked like after scraping it off the bricks!  What a mess!

TOTALLY not done in the middle!  Just had to throw it out, got ash all over it!  Bummer!

Still trying to figure out how to work the oven for pizza.  1 out of 4 turned out pretty good!

This is harder than I thought!  I need to take the time and map out all the temps, but I was too busy always getting the next thing ready!  Ah...next time!

Cookies turned out good.  Just practicing! :)

Ah...I'm tired!  That was a lot of cooking!!  I'm taking a break now! ;)

Outstanding effort Faith!  Let me see:  pizza, bread, bagels, cookies...  All in one bake.  And only your, what, third or fourth bake?!   Nothing holds you back does it?  W onderful!

That pizza looks a little torn up, but otherwise, it looks just yummy.  The rest is gorgeous.

No wonder you're tired!

coming from your oven.  What beautiful cookies and cinnamon rolls, the bagels certainly delicious too!  What a holiday looking feast.  How nice to bake all those goodies in juat a few loads : )  Very nicely done!

Your pizza shouldn't stick if the floor and oven is good and hot.  Pizza's do best in a wfo oven that is very hot, with a nice wood like oak...something you will enjoy the smokey flavor from and at least 750F and has the fire still burning with a flame in the oven.  I'm not sure if you did it this way?  But next time, if you have some spills, mess or goo just, pull some hot coals over the burnt spot and leave them there for a few minutes, push the coals back and walla, perfectly clean.

Ah...decorated cookies all day!  Next time only one batch!  What was I thinking?!  Way to many!  But hopefully the neighbors will like them! :)

You guys are sweet!  Thanks for seeing my stuff! :)

And yes, I did pull the coals over my messed up floor and that worked great!  Ah...love the WFO! ;)

all that steam coming from your wfo.  Looks wonderful, did you add steaming device and if so what method did you use.  Or did you just have your oven that full of goodies ; )  Being able to bake one large batche of holiday goodies will be great.  I get so impatient doing loads of cookies indoors.  BTW I love the barn decorated idea, what a talented group!

Thanks Sylvia!  Yes, all that steam was just from having all the bagels in the oven!  It was crazy!  I was able to fit three cookie sheets in and one smaller one.  I put the first ones on old cooling racks so the cookie sheets wouldn't be directly on the floor and burn.  It worked out great!  Since then, my dad took some of the wire we used in the cladding and bent it over twice and made racks that fit in the oven side by side.  Makes the cookie sheets raised of the floor and they slide in and out really easy!  We also had this long two forked (hot dog stick thing I think) thing that he bent the tips down about an inch, so I use it as my bubble popper and my dragger in and outer thing.  Works great!  He's making me a tool rack roller holder thing for all my peels and such.  Anyways, I was glad to get all those cookies done in just one shot!  It was fantastic!!!

Very nice looking baked goods Faith.  Very ambitious indeed.  What were your temps for the cin rolls and cookies?

I did the bagels first, then as soon as I got all the cookies cut out I threw them in there.  I don't remember for sure, but I think the walls were around 375?  My cookies were supposed to be baked at 400, it took about 10 minutes.  Worked really well.  I'm going to start my notebook at Thanksgiving.  Without writing it all down I know I'm not going to remember how much time, how long to wait, and what my different temps are at.

It was neat to see how the oven heat is so different from a regular oven.  If you leave something in a regular oven for a minute too long it can burn.  I'm finding that the WFO is pretty forgiving even if you have to let it go a bit longer.  It's great!!

Thanks for you sweet comments Roo! :)

and I'll say it again.

Prebake your pizza shells.

You don' need no freekin' screen! The masonry hearth is absolutely the BEST surface for dough. Screens are nice for metal pizza ovens, like in your local pizza shop, but unnecessary or worse in a WFO.

I form my pizza dough right on the floured peel. (Though I have been practicing "The Toss" just for fun. It not that hard after you've launched a few, and is actually pretty efficient once you get the hang of it.) Slip it into the oven to bake  until the  bottom is set. Then pull it out for topping and baking. No worries about musching the pizza up with the peel if it's prebaked.

I'm just sayin' . . .

AH.....where is Franki G when I need him?  He makes it look so easy in the little video!  "Freekin' screen"!!!  Pretty funny!  I was laughing! ;)  I know, they yelled at me on the oven group too! ;)  But hey, I really liked the screen besides the fact that it didn't work!  But I think there were many factors that played into it "not" working.  I still might give it one more try?!  Yeah, yeah...take my pizza into my own hands!! :)  Ah...you are just too funny!  I will try and prebake too, just to give it a shot.  I just hate going in and out, in and out, up and down, up and down the stairs!  I saw your cute little oven, its just outside the door!  I'd have to take all the stuff out there!  That's why I want to have it all "done" the first time I go out.  But, since it didn't work great I'm going to have to try another approach!

Now off to my other post.  I saw real quick you wrote a lot there, so I'm going to check that out!  Hey now, be nice about my sweet little pizza screen!  If it would have worked, I would have loved it!! :)
