Chasing Bread

Almost a year ago I joined TFL after refusing to pay 600€ for my wedding cake and succefully making my own.

Little did I know of all the thing that would follow. I was an avid homebaker already. Now, backed by the shared knowledge of our unique global TFL community, I developed, bloomed exploded into a full fledged advocate of real bread. My kitchen is in a constant state of flux to fit more bags of flour and pots of farting and belching wild yeast. To make a long story short; the bread fever got to me.

Working in TV it didn't take long before I put two and two together. Bread seems to be in the air at the moment. And it should be in these times of crisis!

So I started developing a format to advocate real bread in a 6 episode documentary gone road trip. The intention is to "chase" the best bread in Europe (doing the world wide version is still a distant but vibrant dream for now...) and (by means of TV and the internet) bring it right to your home oven and kitchen table.

All things great start off small, so for the pilot episode I concentrate on my home turf; the Netherlands. That episode will be my portal to getting the whole project funded.

Out here on the TFL I love to share the video's that I make. I can see from my stats that a lot of TFL members see them and from what I understand they like them.

In order to keep the momentum going, I want to ask all of you who like the idea to endorse me. Every time any one hits the "like" button, my chances of realizing this project will increase. It's three seconds of your time, but it could mean a world of difference to the project. It's called BreadLab, and can also be found here.

I hope this iniative has your sympathy, and all of you who have a big network; any help is appreciated to get his thing flying as high as possible.

Thanks in advance for any help, with warm regards

Then you are going to Europain - right? 3-7 March 2012.  Paris (any excuse to go to Paris...) - just 3 hrs by Thalys from Amsterdam.   Because if you are chasing the best bread - you will truely find it there at the Coupe du Monde.

See you there... :>)

Yes! I will be there. Would be nice to meet up. Do you know who else of our TFL-ers will be attending?

O yeah, good old Thalys. Finally the Dutch part of the track is finished, so instead of the 3,45 hrs, it did indeed takes a mere 3! Pity, however, that Thalys decided to raise the prices so much, it's actually worth flying there in 45 minutes with a LCC.

Let's keep in touch about this, I would love to meet you for real!

with the Bread Baker's Guild of America cheering Team USA to victory!  I suppose we could have a TFL T shirt day or something.  Always fun to meet folks in the "real" world.

Great idea! I'm looking forward to it already, not in the last place because, when it is time...spring might already be in the air in Paris.
