Peanut butter bread?

I used to have a peanut butter bread recipe for the bread machine and have misplaced it.  Looked up some on internet and so far they didn't seem the same as I remembered.  Think it used chunky and it was about 2/3 cup or more.  Any favorites out there?

Greetings IndyRose, this is the one I use. I hope it's acceptable.

Peanut Butter Bread

1 1/4 cups milk or water

3 tablespoons honey

1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter

3 cups bread or all-purpose flour

1/2 cup ww flour

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons yeast

Add the ingredients to your bread machine in the order listed. Set on basic. In warm weather I add 2 teaspoons vinegar to slow molding.

Humm, that sounds good to try!  I was thinking my mom used a tsp. of vinegar in bread.  Didn't know it helped keep it fresh!  Thanks

I don't really know a peanut butter bread myself, but if you want something absolutely delicious, have a search for Dan Lepard's Peanut Chilli Bread. Highly recommended.

Bernard Clayton has a pretty great recipe that includes peanut butter and peanuts, its pretty fantastic.  The recipe is on page 461 of "New complete book of Breads, Soups, and Stews".

1 1/4 C warm water

1/4 C each of salted peanuts, chunky peanut butter, and brown sugar

2 t salt

3 C bread or AP flour

1 T yeast

Mix 1 1/2 C of the flour and the rest of the ingredients until flour is absorbed, mix the rest of the flour in 1/2 C at a time to make a smooth batter.  Cover and let sit until doubled.  wet your fingers and pour the batter into two small pans or one large pan and pat the top of the loaves/loaf to smooth the surface, cover the batter and let sit until doubled.  Preheat oven to 375 20 minutes before baking.  The book says it freezes well, but between the seven kids and the wife, there has never been a reason to freeze any bread that I've ever made.  I'm sure you can just throw these ingredients into the bread machine and it would work out great

That sounds good too, I like the addition of salted peanuts.  I do like experimenting with recipes!  Might throw in a few rasins too, kind of like peanut butter and jelly bread.  Bread at our house does not seem to make it to the freezer either!

Read a little story one time about bread mysteriously dissappearing after it was sitting on the rack to cool.  The guy decided that hot bread turned into buttery stained knives in the sink.  But might have been better to follow the trail of crumbs I reckon.

I'm curious if the recipe you can't find was from a Breadman bread machine manual.  In the mid-90's I got my first bread machine and that particular recipe was my favorite.   Sure wish I could find that one again.  It was a winner!

Specifically for a bread machine.  I had to pipe in because I made this sans a bread machine.  Not bad.  Came out like wonder bread with more than a hint of peanut butter and a very nice yellow-orange hue.  For a PB&J sandwich it was really nice.
