Yip, that's what I'd call sausage rolls too:

Was standing by to find out what it meant in the US vernacular...., thought it had to be some kind of bread roll when the title included 'sourdough' but......

Cheers, Robyn

include a little roasted garlic & take the skins off the sausages, and wrap them up.

Here in Wisconsin (USA) a sausage roll is a hot dog or brat rollled in biscuit dough(in the American sense of bread biscuits-usually from a store-bought tube) or better yet pre-packaged croissant dough (nothing like a real croissant). But I have an English friend who makes sausage rolls every Christmas by making her own laminated puff pastry dough with butter or lard and using breakfast sausage links (pork-sage flavor). They are very labor intensive!

So what kind of sausage rolls do you mean? Either sounds delicious to me!

Superbowl Weekend! I'm sure lots of weinie rollups are going to be made and consumed. As I said before, get a tube of store-bought biscuit dough or crescent (croissant) dough, roll up a pre-cooked sausage of choice (hot dog,Italian, brat, breakfast sausage) and bake. Some people add cheese, mustard,or whatever.

Enjoy-not exactly gourmet but couldn't be easier. Here's a "recipe" and pic:

to use pie crust to roll them, in, she would lightly cook the breakfast sausage links, and not brown them, roll them in the pie crust and bake for about 20 minutes in a 350-450 oven, its sort of guess and gosh, but I do mine in a 450 oven for about 10-12 minutes, dark crust.

If you want sour dough then make a nice bun recipe, and simply roll the chunks of sausage in the rolled out bun dough and bake. I make real biscuit dough and roll it out thin, and roll the cooked sausage or weiners (hot dogs or whatever) in them, and bake in a 450F oven for 20 minutes, By making your own biscuit dough, you can add things like cheese (Tex/Mex mix is great), herbs, etc, and they taste better than the dough in can form Pilsbury.

Can even make your own sausage mix, by using whatever you want beef, pork, Johnsonville sausage mix with the spice already in, and even chicken and turkey, mix the meat with bread crumbs or oatmeal (I run my whole oats through the food processor so its finer than the quick cooking and a whole lot cheaper too) any spices and or onion etc, and bind it with egg, or even tomato sauce, and then lightly cook them in sausage shapes and roll in whatever bread you decide on. Tasty and actually not that hard to make. These freeze well too, and make a quick lunch when pressed for time.

I guess I was a little confusing. I want to use my sourdough starter to make Rolls for Sausage. I have made Italian sausage but would like to make Fresh rolls. Does any one have a good idea for a recipie to make the bread for Rolls.

I just read your opening comments.. you wanted a recipe.  Please be more specific next time.. that was a bit of a waste of time.  I'll delete my commentary.
