Sourdough mini baguette's & Anadama bread

I just received my new kitchenaid 600 pro a couple days ago, and am so pleased with it!  I baked these sourdough mini baguettes on the 5th.  They turned out really good and I just had to share them!

We had turkey, fried onions & mushrooms, and monterey jack cheese on them.  Still makes my mouth water....

Also couldn't resist trying the first recipe in my Bread Bakers Apprentice book, even though I haven't read but a few pages in it so far....

I was really surprised by this bread, didn't expect it to taste so good.  I don't eat sweet bread very often, but would much prefer this to a regular corn bread for my home made chili dinners!

Thanks!  My breads were pretty good before I found TFL, but this website has raised them to a level that makes my husband extremely happy.  He was so happy that he bought me a brand new Kitchenaid 600 Pro. I spent so many years learning with no teacher, banging my head against the wall, wondering why it didn't turn out like I wanted it to, and eventually learned how to make decent bread.  There really wasn't much information out there a few years ago, so experimenting was my only way to learn.  I made many bricks, and I'm sure I will make quite a few more before all is said and done.  I am excited though at this new level of baking bread and want to expand my knowledge.

I am reading Bread Bakers Apprentice, and he really speaks my language!  Haven't gotten far in it, but he said something about teaching me how to give flavor to my bread and teach me how to feel the dough.  I am constantly touching my dough as I make it, but the imparting of flavor has really intrigued me.  I have challenged myself this year with baking every loaf in BBA, as well as learning how to do bakers math.

I really want to thank you for starting this website, so that people have a place to go to learn from experts so that they don't have to bang their heads against a wall like I did for so many year!

Thanks again!

Joanne
