Has anyone used this scale?

One of my other obsessions is coffee. I received an e-mail ad for an ADC scale that is claimed to be accurate to 0.04 oz/1 g. This may be of interest only to those who obsess over ingredient measurements and of no interest to those who persist in measuring by volume, e.g., cups of flour.

Has anyone used this scale?

I'm not familiar with the brand, but I'm see nothing in the description to  set this particular scale apart from the rest.

I use the OXO to weigh my beans before grinding. There's no other way to go. ;) Doesn't your present scale resolve to 1 gram?

cheers,

gary

The brand gets good reviews here in Europe.

However: are you sure you want a scale with automatic shut-off? I hate automatic shut-off!

I'd say it's a scale.

Very sleek looking.

I've been thinking about getting this strange device (http://www.amazon.com/Admetior-Digital-Spoon-Scale-Red/dp/B001G5ZBIY/ref=pd_sim_k_2)

Go for it, Glenn.

I have that spoon scale and it's awesome.  While the myWeigh i5000 I use claims to be able to measure to 0.05 grams, it doesn't.

The scale David has pictured looks pretty nice.  I wonder if there's a way to determine where it is made.  Items engineered in a certain country aren't always produced there.

A spoon scale sure would have come in handy a couple weeks ago when we were trying to estimate the postage on some silverware we sent to one of our kids. ;-)

The scale David pictured is made in Germany.
Reputable firm, they've been making scales with German precision since 1935.

I just got the KD8000 which is a baker's percentage scale, and I must say its a lovely scale, and very accurate, it will add for a small smidge of thyme in a pie crust recipe! I think its accurate to a gram, and for me that is good enough, the spoon scale is interesting, and I might get one. But the scale that allows me to use the percent key and keep adding the ingredients is much better for my poor math challanged brain if I had to figure that out, I'd never even attempt a bread!

It also weighs the pans for my fruitcakes, and of course you can 0 it, and then simply fill the tins. I had the best most even bake with this years cakes, and I've used a scale to weight them for years, I have a baby scale, and one that hangs on the wall, and up until it quit a fairly cheap digital from the Source (under 20 bucks for that) and I bought a newer one before I splurged and bought the KD scale. But the KD is the one that I'm going to use from now on. And the company had an adaptor so I can actually plug it in if the batteries fail late Sunday night when I'm 10 miles from town.
