Greetings all

Hi all - I've been 'lurking' for a little while, have now made a few posts, so figured that I should introduce myself properly.

I'm not sure if there's any sort of convention here for how to introduce oneself - anyway, I'm Laura and I'm from Victoria in the South Eastern part of Australia. I love to cook - baking in particular, but you name it and I'll give it a go - and I was more or less raised in the kitchen on good homemade food. We (mostly I) have been doing our own baking for years and years - bread, cake, biscuits, pastry and so forth. I make a loaf and/or batch of rolls every few days and can't even remember the last time we bought a loaf of bread. It just tastes so much better and is, I'm sure, so much better for you as well.

Look forward to getting to know you all.

Laura

Hi, Laura.

Welcome to TFL!

Tell us more about what you like to bake, and we really like photos.

Hi David.

Thanks for the welcome!

Most of my baking is our 'daily bread' - just a basic loaf with a wee bit of grain in it and usually a few rolls of the same dough. I also do a weekly cake of some sort - usually a boiled fruit cake, banana loaf or carrot cake depending upon what is in the fridge/cupboard/fruit bowl. I also bake other things - usually don't get through the week without making a pie or quiche, and I tend to make smaller pastries - pasties, sausage rolls, etc., that go into the freezer to be reheated as lunches.

Quite often make fruit buns or bread for breakfast too (got to love the bread machine timer!) too, and given that Easter is almost upon us, this week I will be making some hot cross buns.

I'd never thought to take photos of my cooking - will be sure to do so and post them up!
