My "magic bowl" and a sourdough boule

SulaBlue, thank you so much for your kind help. Makes me feel a little bit better to hear that you had a problem too. I am going to give it a try - but it is late and who knows what might happen! Fingers crossed.

Nope, didn't work. I think my problem is that I don't know how to get to Flickr when I am working here. I found the picture and right clicked and found the option that says Copy Image Address - but then what? Oh well, maybe tomorrow. Thanks again anyway, A.

I never would have tried to cover a loaf if it hadn't been for your posts.

Hi Annie T, nice, no gorgeous looking boule.  I think I might have the same exact size of the bowl pictured.  Mine weighs 16.15 oz.  Do you pre-heat the bowl before covering ?

Hi saraugie, thank you for the kind words - I am still making the same boule and it is still a thrill to lift off the bowl. Easily pleased, I guess? I preheat the oven and baking stone and rinse the bowl with hot water just before covering the boule. So it is heated but not enough to be dangerous or hard to handle, A.

Thanks for the quick response, will do it this way.

Your boule is lovely - I really like the way you scored it.

And that was super of Susan to post the photo for you.

we've been waiting along time for your pics and that one is certainly a beauty. Can't wait to see some more!

Thanks, Betty, but if it wasn't for Susan we would all still be waiting! I have lots of pictures but getting them from "My pictures" or Flickr to TFL seems to be beyond me. I have ordered Windows for Dummies and Susan thinks that will help. We'll see. Or I could just hire Susan to do my posting... Maybe I'll quit while I'm ahead since I tend to make the same loaf over and over and that was it! A.

Annie, don't you dare quit!  You said:  " I think my problem is that I don't know how to get to Flickr when I am working here. "

Why not just open your browser for a second time in a separate window, go to your Flickr site, and then you'll have the information to insert the link.  I do that all the time with Photobucket, switching back and forth between the windows - or  you could minimize one window.

Isn't it amazinng how nice the spring is using Susans method of covered baking? I'm stunned every time I pull a perfect loaf out of the oven using it.

Many thanks for the kind words, Eric. I can't tell you how much my baking has improved since Susan taught us her method - it truly is magic to me. I love the first hint of baking bread scent and then the thrill of taking off the bowl. My kids still roll their eyes but never refuse a loaf! A.
