Technical Help on producting a blog - how to save/edit
I am a blog virgin! Trying desperately to create my first blog. I can now insert pictures and texts BUT can anyone tell me how to edit and save a text which I intend to work more on before publishing it. It seems that either I have to log out of TFL and lose what I have created thus far or if I do 'save', doesn't that publish the document automaticlly, hence I am sending for all to read a document only half (if that!) done. HELP!

It's easiest to do your writing, editing, grammar and spell checking offline, using your word processing software. Once you're satisfied with the accuracy of the content (and any formula), then you can paste it and insert the photos.
Use the preview function often before saving, to confirm your alignment, etc. is the way you want it.

I gather that you mean to do the text offline, separately from the pics, and then insert the pics in one go to finish the blog. I will try that. Thanks
Let me add, when doing this in "word processing software" - DO NOT USE MICROSOFT! Word is exceptionally troublesome for folks that run websites, because they insist on breaking all sorts of rules and things like quotation marks are weird special characters that mean something else in web pages, so when you copy-paste from a Word document you're going to end up with all sorts of garbagy extra text code stuff that they insist on throwing in there. Use something simple like Notepad or Wordpad, or on a Mac use something like TextEdit or Stickies. Every now and then you'll see someone post something that has all this crazy spacing or weird code characters in the post, and that's just Microsoft being "special".
If you have to use Word, copy/paste it into something like Wordpad once before trying to paste it into any website text field, and then copy-paste it again from there, where all that code stuff should hopefully get taken out. But this is not just an issue on TheFreshLoaf - you will find this problem on any web forum.
Thank you so much for the tips, specially the one about not using Microsoft. I was not aware of that potential problem. You are probably saving me hours of work, and quite a lot of gray hair! If I succeed, it will be entitled 'Breads of Switzerland'. Good Baking.
If you must use Word, then another solution is to File>Save As and choose the option for TXT files. That generally get's rid of Microsoft's clever stuff. You can then add styling here in The Fresh Loaf.
