Hello from Utah!

Hello to everyone! I was very excited to find this website! I plan to learn lots from this great gathering of bakers!

This is one of the best online sites.  I come here every day and learn something new.

I am in Canada but I used to live in Provo.  Where about are you?  Al

Yes, this is a great place, a great gathering of bakers, and there are some great bakers here too!  We're all over the globe in geography, and all over the map in terms of skills too.  You will be able to learn from some, teach to some, and to just share your challenges and triumphs on any (well, on every) given day.  Welcome.

I used to live in SLC back in the 70's! Live up on the bench about 33rd south. Too dry for this guy!

Welcom to TFL, there is so much to learn here!

Aloha,

Royall

Did you attend BYU?  I was there between 1992 and 1997, working and getting my masters degree.  So you moved between Canada and the US?  That's cool!  Al

Yes -- graduated in 71, went to MN for Masters...

The move to Canada was easy -- had one small child.  It was -60F when we unloaded the van.

The move back to the US was, with five children five-and-under [we adopted], incredibly difficult.  We had to inventory the entire household... brand, model, serial number... yada-yada.  Fortunately, when we hit the border, no one inspected us... but getting ready to get to the border was a nightmare!

Good to meet someone from my alma mater.

Yikes, -60F is like -51C!  We don't get many of those brutal days any more.  On average our very cold day is probably around -45C day time high (with wind-chill).  Wow, 1971... I was still a little kid.  LOL  Crossing border was easy then.  I bet they make you take your shoes off these days!
